I have the Asus AC86U router and love it now that I turned off the smart connect and made two separate networks but one thing I can't figure out is why my Samsung Galaxy S9 phone looses the internet connection when the phone is screen off and idle even though on the router it shows connected. I'm still connected to my router but the email alerts and camera alerts don't get to the phone unless I open the screen. I tried disabling Universal Beamforming/Explicit Beamforming/Multi-User MIMO/Airtime Fairness and Modulation Scheme to MCS 9 as other threads suggested. I also made sure wifi is always on in the phone but if I use the AC68U I do not have this problem. I only have a week left with the ac86u to decide to return it or not so please send me some suggestions as I like the signal range and Open VPN speed on this router.
