Using AC87U with 4 TB External USB drive for 2+ years. Since the first day, I installed Merlin and formatted USB drive as ext4. Some time ago (like at the end of last year), I re-formatted USB drive as ext4 again. All the time, it worked great.
Now, running 384.5, ext4 is not available anymore. Every time I try to format as ext4, this error comes:
mkfs.ext4: not found
mkfs.ext3 works as usually. Does someone know why ext4 was removed in recent releases of fimrware? Or is it a bug in 384.5?
I know some routers don't support ext4, but it was always there since the first day I bought the router, so it's surely not router problem, I think...
P.S. If I format drive as ext4 on another system and attach it to router, it works fine, so the router surely supports ext4. But why we are not allowed to format drives as ext4 then?
