I have just upgraded to the AX88U and want to query remotely accessing the router.

I can set up, and have tested remote access and it works fine. HTTPS is on with WAN access restricted to one device. DDNS has also been set up.

Is this safe? Is anyone else happily using this?

Running latest Merlin firmware.

Thanks,

The advise on these forums has always been to never enable web access from the WAN. If you need remote access use the OpenVPN server instead.

Nice,

I have set up OpenVPN server on the router but it won't let me connect to the router, even though I can connect to my devices on the LAN.

I'll have a look at the settings and see if its something there I need to change.

You probably can't connect because you set up remote access to a single device and now when you connect using the VPN server that device's IP is different.
