New Around Here
Hey everyone,
So ive had a ad-hoc (pc-pc) network going for some time with one pc being directly connected and the other behind, and ive bought a laptop not long ago and thought why not run an extra cable to the main machine, so i did. And here is the problem: when i plug in both the laptop and my pc into the main pc the net just dies, only LAN works. All the settings look correct.
Maybe someone has a suggestion ?

And i know that using a router would solve all my problems, no it wont i have a piece of software running on that machine that hates routers (no idea why).

If you don't want to connect to the Internet, just buy a switch and manually assign IP address.

If you want to connect computer-to-computer and to the Internet, buy a router.
