AdGuard Home+Unbound in proxmox does not work properly with Asus AX88U Pro

New Around Here
Hello!

You are my last hope :)
The setup:
Asus AX88U Pro
Proxmox on some old HW with a CT AdGuard Home + Unbound in it

My config in the router:
under LAN, both DNS Server is the IP of the AGH+Unbound instance
under DNS Director, it is set to Router and i added the no redirection for the MAC address of the AGH+Unbound instance

Config in AGH:
1 upstream DNS: 127.0.0.1:5335 (to unbound)

What works well:
DNS resolution is ok.
no DNS leak

My problems:
1. I have 2100 ms average dns resolution (the 2 devices, the router and the pc is in a wired 1GBit connection)
2. under AGH GUI, i can see very few clients. The top client is the router, which is not ideal, it should not work like that to my knowledge.

What could i've been missing?!

Sorry if it is a duplicate, i couldn't find the solution for this specific scenario.

under DNS Director, it is set to Router and i added the no redirection for the MAC address of the AGH+Unbound instance
You don't mention your firmware version, but you should set this to User Defined 1 and add the AGH IP as User Defined 1.

How do you know the MAC address is correct when Proxmox is in the picture?

What is the router WAN DNS set to?
under LAN, both DNS Server is the IP of the AGH+Unbound instance
Did you uncheck the option to advertise router as well?

thanks for the quick reply!
my fw: 3004.388.8_4
i changed the setting to user defined with the ip of unbound/agh. no luck.
there is not a new record in query logs for minutes, while i browsing the web, preferebly with brand new addresses to avoid cache.
i checked the MAC address in proxmox and added it, but the router already giving me a hint with this name: Proxmox Server Solutions GmbH. its matching, at least now. and since the problem appears now, i thought its fine at least for now.
WAN DNS: i tried to use ISP and my AGH instance ip. no luck with either one
yes, i unchecked the advertising router as DNS too
(tried to read as much as i could the forums here.. but im out of ideas..)

now i tried updating to latest stable fw: 3006.102.5
now the dns leaks too. :D
i attached the end of the post those, that are added to my IP as well..
DNS Director is acting funny? should i restore completely? could that help?
what to avoid from amtm? i had Skynet, i uninstalled that but nothing changed (to avoid intercepts). the router has AGH + unbound currently, unbound is disabled. i can't enter "ag" in amtm, it just hangs. so i couldn't disable it yet... could it cause problems if IP is set to new destination of AGH?

if the topic of "why?" comes up.. i want to diverse away from having everything on the router, i had issues every few months with this setup, and had a pc to use this for, so.. i want to try it at least :)

If AGH is installed on the router, you might uninstall it as it could be interfering with your settings to advertise the new AGH IP. If you can’t uninstall it, reset everything to factory defaults.
