AiMesh - ASUS Gt-AX6000 and ASUS ExpertWiFi

rcamp

New Around Here
I have a ASUS Gt-AX6000 as my main router and it works fine, I am planning to add a new node as AIMesh and also planning to wire/power my ip cameras with PoE. It seems ASUS ExpertWiFi EBG19P or even ASUS ExpertWiFi EBP15 would fit perfectly, adding a new node to the network + the PoE feature.

Now the question is, is this possible to mix ExpertWiFi with other "common" ASUS router using AIMesh?
this link to the ASUS ExpertWiFi EBG19P says it could be used as node with no further details

but this other for ASUS ExpertWiFi EBP15 says it needs a ExpertWifi router only, that ASUS Gt-AX6000 is not, perhaps the EBG19P missed to add this information

Now the question is, can I mix my ASUS Gt-AX6000 with ASUS ExpertWiFi (any of them) to create AIMesh?

Just get a PoE switch for your cameras. Make IoT Network from Guest Network Pro features, assign a LAN port to it, connect your PoE switch there. Hopefully it works on your router because we have reports it doesn't on other models. 3006 firmware is not ready for prime time yet. Don't mix consumer RT/GT with "business" ExpertWiFi, nothing is guaranteed to work. If it works now Asus may restrict it in the future separating the product lines.
