Struggled to get the router (RT-AC68U) to recognize the new RT-A66U B1 over 2 days about 4 hours each time in desperation I tried the Android router management APP BAM! it works! WAHOO!

The joy was short lived.

Now after 10 mins to hours the WiFi refuses all connections good very strong signal... will go through the connecting to the SSID obtaining IP address then fail to connect...

Spent way too much time on this and now with the AIMESH node (RT-AT66U B1) turned off.

The RT-AC68U needs to be rebooted because it randomly, drops & fails to accept WiFi clients, though not as much with the AiMesh Node turned on.

The AiMesh node isn't that far away 45 to 50 feet

At this point I want to forget this ever happened

Any experience restoring the main router to working condition?

Set a router up from scratch with a clean firmware install and minimal configuration. Once it's working, add the node. See my install notes for tips. Make sure you reset to factory defaults after installing the firmware. It's not difficult if you step through it carefully. You don't need the app, so leave that out of the picture until you get the network installed.
