AiMesh RT-AC86U and RT-AC68U

Hello,
I am having trouble configuring AiMesh with AC86 as main router and AC68 as a node.
This is the first time I am trying to configure AiMesh and no matter what I try - node is not discovered:
1. Followed the instructions - upgrade both to latest merlin firmware (386.11_0) then reset AC68 and search for node at AC86.
2. Tries also Asus original firmware on AC68.
3. Tried also with cable from AC86 lan to AC68 wan.

What am I missing ? is there a known problem with these models ?
