I have an RT-AX86U Pro router running in Access Point Mode which has an ethernet connection to my Firewalla router. I decided to set up a vlan for my IoT devices. The default router subnet is 192.168.50.1/24
I created a vlan on my Firewalla router with a different subnet (192.168.168.1/24) and assigned vlan ID 50 to it. The router has DHCP enabled. I then created a wireless vlan on my RT-86U Pro assigning vlan ID 50 to it and rebooted my router.
Next, I examined my Firewalla router. It correctly inficates there are 40 IoT devices connected to my vlan subnet. The IoT devices seem to be functioning correctly (at least no problems yet experienced)
However, If I examine the Asus "Guest Network Pro" tab for my just created vlan, I see one wired device connected (my router) and none of my 40 wireless IoT devices appear. Nothing.
When I view the Asus wireless log, I can find each of my 40 wireless IoT devices. And they appear to be connected. But the the "assigned IP address" for each device on my newly created vlan network is "blank".
Why would none of the IoT devices on the vlan not display properly? Is this because my vlan devices are on a separate subnet? Is this indicative of a vlan configuration issue?
