Allowed Characters in SSID.

Quick question i have heard SSID's dont like certain characters in them can someone say for sure if ( ) is acceptable? Thanks Jim !!

Nothing in specs that suggest limitations, however, some clients may have issues with UTF-8/ISO-Latin extended characters, so best to stay with US-ASCII A-Z, a-z, 0-9...

What is the purpose of using fancy or too unique SSID? Think it'll improve security?

The characters I would try to stay away from, as many AP's are based in Linux, and may either have busybox or bash installed

; Command separator

& Background execution

( ) Command grouping

| Pipe

* ? [ ] ~ Filename metacharacters

{ } String expansion characters. Usually don't require quoting.

> < & ! Redirection symbols

! ^ History substitution, quick substitution

" ' \ Using in quoting other characters

$ Variable substitution

NO this is a question actually posted for a friend after i told him some characters cause issues. Not sure why he wants or needs ( ) in the ID just asked the question for him.
