Amped Wireless Releases AC1300 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi Range Extender

Amped Wireless announced the availability of its Artemis-EX AC1300 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi Range Extender. Positioned as "affordable" desktop extender, the Artemis-EX was introduced earlier this year at CES 2016 and is one of the latest products added to the growing market of MU-MIMO compatible devices.

Powered by a Qualcomm quad-core processor, 128 MB of DDR3 memory, eight amplifiers and two high gain antennas, the Artemis-EX supports maximum link rates of 300 Mbps for 2.4 GHz and 867 Mbps for 5 GHz. Amped claims a range of 1200 sq. ft.

Wired networking on the Artemis-EX includes five GbE ports and a USB 3.0 port for storage sharing.

Priced at $129.99, Amped Wireless is now shipping orders for the Artemis-EX via the company website, while retailers are scheduled to start receiving the extender within the next few weeks.
