Antenna 2.4Ghz vs 5Ghz

Is there any difference between a 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz antenna? I need to replace one of the antennae on my
RT-AC68U. Is it necessary to get one that's advertised for both 2.4 and 5Ghz?

The short answer is, yes there is a difference. Or more precisely, there should be a difference. Whether any of the antennas advertised are actually dual-band is another question, a bit like the claimed dBi ratings.

There is a difference - and there, antennas should be from the OEM, not "off the shelf" to keep things matched up.
