any way to stress test a router to see if its failing?

hey guys! with merlin firmware is there anything i can do or check to see if a router is failing or has problems etc? or is basically the only way to just test it normally and run it like a normal and if it keeps rebooting etc then its dead?

If it keeps rebooting, then you don't need to stress test it... you need to re-install the stock firmware, reset it a couple times, and try to use it.

If you have no issues, then there is no reason to stress test it. This is not like a custom built PC, where you have to stress test it for stability. Your router either works or does not.

If you see higher CPU, wifi temps. Then I suggest you thoroughly clean the router. A can of air and a vacuum cleaner.
If you a brave enough and know how to, take the router apart and apply fresh paste, and clean all any build up dust that prevents air circulation.

If you have another wall wart power supply try using that. Fairly frequently the power supply isn't consistently supplying the power needed which causes the router to reboot.
