I'm trying to setup my network so that my router has public IP address from ISP and my computer also public IP address from ISP. So I have selected AP mode and that's where my problems start.

When I run ping www.google.com from my router it takes about 8 seconds until router resolves needed IP address. After those 8 seconds (when router receives google's IP address) is ping running normally. Transmission is completely failing to work (tracker status is "updating" all the time).

All network functionality from my PC is working flawlessly.

Any ideas where could be the problem?
Just for the record in router mode (with NAT) is everything running fine.

Hi,

I am running two routers:
- The RT-N66U is the main router with ISP connection
- The RT-N16 is the Access Point and Range Extender for my many WLAN clients

In the Access Point mode I have setup LAN:
- A fixed IP with Subnet Mask
- A fixed Default Gateway (is of course my main router)
- A fixed DNS server (is agian my main router)

How did you setup your AP mode? Fixed or automatich configuration?

By the way: The AP mode is running fine in my case...

With kind regards
Joe

of course router is running DHCP client to get settings from ISP. And DNS settings are the same as on PC

Did anyone tried connecting router running asuswrt-merlin in AP mode to public internet?
