Im in need of about 10 wireless ac access points, and I dont really care for performance that much, I am more looking for quality of internals and chip quality. I mainly want long uptimes, with no problems, and being able to connect tons of wireless clients. I can get the unifi ac pro for about $180 cad and im fine with around this range for my budget. do you guys recommend this for the price range? or is there a diff brand that would be better

i see that tp link is big in the access point market but as far as i know for the household market they build consumer quality china made routers for cheap prices which make them super attractive. I would prefer to stay away from tp link unless people agree that there access points are better internal quality and can handle high uptimes with tons of users connecting etc.

thanks!

If you're looking for 'tons of users' connecting, maybe Ruckus is a better bet?

The Cisco WAP581 Wireless APs are built for coffee shops with lots of connections. The WAP581 has the controller software built-in designed to run multiple units for higher densities or to cover a larger area. They are back hauled on Ethernet wire for the fastest speeds.

i looked up this one but it seems like there obselete

I have 3 AC-Pro's configured in my network at home. I have had all 3 for about 2.5 years, with no issues. I have had uptimes of months, but I do like to run various Unifi firmware, so my uptime varies. For the price point, I would say they are pretty solid AP's. If you go by the data sheet, concurrent user's is at 25o. Even if you cut that in half, or, in quarters, it's still pretty decent. User's typically don't transmit and receive at the same time.

Things to make your install successful: Mount AC-Pro's on ceilings; that is how they are intended to mount.
Don't use auto power / auto channel. You will also need a Cloud Key, as all Unifi AP's and Unifi routers are managed by a controller: see link below. Not sure what router you are using, or, how much bandwidth you have, but if you are looking for a router check the ER 4 link below. I do not recommend the Unifi line of routers. Lots of people use them, I just don't like the OS.

All Ubiquiti Unifi AP's are PoE AP's. Depending where (how old vendor inventory is) / how you purchase them, you may, or may not, get PoE bricks.

Ubiquiti has two lines of switches, Unifi switches (US) and Edgeswitches (ES), which provide PoE. See links below.

Anyway, as with anything in life, YMMV. I have attached Ubiquiti web site link below. If you have any additional question, I would use the forum. Hope this helps.

If you don't care about performance, why use the PRO and instead go for the LITE? Helps the cost story quite a bit unless you know you have a need for 3x3 radios or the dual Ethernet jacks.

What makes you believe it is obsolete? It was released on Aug 17 2017.

I believe it is current. It is wireless AC Wave 2 and supports a data transfer rate of 2.8Gbps.

maybe i should rephrase i mean more like 100 clients max max, is ruckus in that $180 cad price range by chance?

Possibly the used prices may be. :)

I'll defer to @Trip and others for more info in that line of inquiries. :)
