New Around Here
Hi all,

I've recently purchased an Asus ac68u to work with my Sky fibre router to act as AP to boost the poor wifi performance of the standard sky router (Ie. Turning WiFi off on current sky router and using Asus for all wireless functionality).

I've seen online that I need to turn Asus router into AP mode via administration page on the router UI, however I don't have the option to do this - infact I have no option to change "mode" whatsoever

Just wondering if I'm missing something - whether it be recent firmware getting rid of this function, or something else?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks, Nathan.

What do you have, AC86U like header or AC68U in the text?

Is it really an RT-AC68U?
I think you got a DSL-AC68U, thats with modem inside and very different model with no AP mode.
But you can use a LAN port to main router and turn off DHCP server on node.
Or someone compiled a Merlin firmware for DSL-AC68U, with this you maybe could get an AP mode (did not test it).

If it's an RT-AC68 or an RT-AC86 there should be an easy switch. Go to Administration>Operation Mode, and switch from the default (Wireless Router mode) to Wireless Access Point (AP) mode. If it's a modem-integrated DSL unit I wouldn't know, but would try following Grisu's advice.
