Asus ac87u won't download iPad iPhone apps - help

luvie11uk

New Around Here
i am having a real issue with my new 87u router. I had noticed on my iPad that the web pages loaded slowly and then when I try to download apps they download about 50% then I get a network error connection and that's the end of that! So I did all the trouble shooting with Apple no difference. I then plugged in my old netgear router in and everything worked perfectly no issues , I borrowed a friends linksys set it up and again no issues so that ruled out my isp or iPad as it works perfectly again. I then tried my iPad on a couple of friends wifi and again works perfectly. Plugged my 87u back in and I still have the same issue. I am pulling my hair out. There must be a setting on my router that's wrong , anyone have any idea? Thanks so much

What firmware and version? Has a reset to factory defaults been performance if you have ever updated the firmware on this router? What band are you using? What features have you enabled or are using that are not defaults?

Router is rt-ac87u. The firmware is 380.57. Yes I have updated to all the new firmware. It doesn't matter if 2.4 or 5ghz same issue. Only thing I have on it is extender and web history enabled

Delete the network settings from the iPad and setup again.

The questions that were asked are still not (completely) answered.

You may want to try the RMerlin 380.58 Alpha builds which fix a good deal of issues for many.

Did you do the reset via the "Wifi->SSID->Forget This Network" or via the "General->Reset->Reset Network Settings"?

I'd disable the QOS settings too.

I had the same issue on my 87 U after a upgrading to firmware 3.0.0.4.378_9460. I reset to factory defaults and re applied the firmware and never had the issue again. Hope this helps
