asus n66u - wont give ip

hi,

initially my router paired with the hitron cgnm2250 was working but, then i disconnected my router from the hitron and plugged the hitron directly into my desktop. i did this because i was having ping issues and wanted to find out if it was the asus router that was causing this, it wasnt. so then i reconnected to asus router to my hitron modem and, now it will no longer assign me an ip address. i have reset the router to factory settings by holding down the reset button on the back of the router and, still no luck. does anybody have any idea what the problem is and how to solve it? thank you.

Try power cycling/rebooting the hitron and then the rtn66u. Some modems don't like to change MACs once initialized.

Leave both the modem and the router off (pull the power cords) for at least 10 minutes and preferably half an hour or more. Then power up the modem and wait for 5 minutes, then power on the router. You should have an IP address assigned to you again.
