You are correct-downloaded day before yesterday evening via the ASUS router app-3.0.0.6.102_40383. I haven't checked if the web gui works but I would assume so. Nothing currently on the ASUS web page for downloading this version. Would you happen to have release notes on this?

No, unfortunately I didn't try to get it. Sometimes there's a place on the app or web GUI to pull it up before downloading...
