Asus Router Extender RT-AC53 to RT N12

SO i have two routers

the main one I use for my internet which is RT-AC53 and I ordered Another router (RT N12) to extend my wifi/internet 50 Meters away.

A friend of mine told me Its easy to do that all I had to do was Just to plug in a 50 meter lan cable both my routers and set up the repeater mode for RT N12.

I was wondering if that's actually possible.

When you're using WiFi to connect two routers together, that is Repeater mode.

When you're using a LAN cable, that is AP mode.

I vaguely remember a customer that used an RT-N12 in such a fashion, but I wouldn't want to be quoted on that.

Totally feasible, but if you use the Ethernet cable you want an access point, not a repeater. Put the RT-N12 in Access Point mode, and make sure the WiFi channels are different, and either 1, 6 or 11 on the 2.4 gHz.
