ASUS RT-68u firmware issue

DANIEL BYRNS

New Around Here
So I have a ASUS rt-ac68u router when Every I up the firmware past Version 3.0.0.4.384.45717 I lose my server hard drive connected to the router. What I have on it is a bunch of movies that can be streamed to anyone. It is setup as media server and smba cloud disk. If I upgrade past current firmware I loss the movies. No fire stick or TV will see them any more.
I can still see them on windows 10 pc and upload/download movies to the drive.
Any ideas?
Does ASUS upgrade the smba software also after that firmware?
Oh on firestick I use VLC to watch the movies on the network.

Thanks

Yes, they enabled SMB2.0 support. You might need to reboot your clients after upgrading the firmware, because Windows for instance will not re-negotiate the protocol unless you either restart the Workstation service, or reboot the computer.

Will this fix the issue with the TV and firestick???

Should i do a factory reset after firmware? Do you think this will clear it up or is the issue still with the firestick software?
