Ive read that 16 characters are max for router login but, can i use & / ~ / # etc in the password?

Im running merlin 384.12 if that matters

Symbols are supported, however I don't trust 100% the encoding, so I would recommend sticking to "safe" symbols such as $!@#,-_. Avoid quotes, double quotes and percentage.

Also keep in mind you can also customize the username, which means in total you get 32 characters of entropy - more than enough for a home router.
