New Around Here
Hey folks,

I just upgraded my xfinity internet from 250 to gigabit speeds.
Here is my current setup
1. Modem - Netgear CM1000
2. Router - Asus RT-AC87U running latest merlin firmware
3. Multiple devices on AC wifi

Wired connection is getting good download speeds. up to 900+ Mbps, but when on WiFi max i get would be 350 Mbps - when i am near the modem on 5ghz.

Wireless adapter on my laptop is (AzureWave Broadcom BCM94352HMB 802.11ac 867Mbps Wireless-AC) so i should be getting at least 500 Mbps on wifi?

Any suggestions on how to get the most on gigabit internet and wireless? Should i upgrade my modem, wifi adapter on my devices?

Am living in a single story house, unfortunately can't wire network cable through wall, tried powerline adapters but wifi faster. Suggestions and tips appreciated.

If you query the notebook wireless connection properties, is it connecting at 866 Mbps?

350 sounds about right for link rate which is at 866 Mbps, best you would get is 433 which is raw throughput. Then you have factor encryption, tcp overhead, wireless protocols.

My phone with a link speed of 866 Mbps will max out around 550 Mbps sustained on speed tests.

With Rt-Ac86 I am not surprised, it has excellent performance on 5 GHZ, on my phone link rate is 1083 Mbps for phone with 2 antenna. My speed come very close to yours speed in testing, just little higher.
