I upgraded using the Android app. All is well here so far.

updated via GUI 15 minutes ago. seems fine for now.

So far:
System Status/Status still thinks a 100 MB connection needs to be improved (connected to a 10/100 PoE switch).
AiCloud Sync does not complete after a reboot.
And a couple of cosmetic things that have been in the firmware for a long time but do not matter.

Curious: What's the typical time between releases appearing here and them showing up on my products page on Asus.com?

No idea.

Asus does a slow roll over their worldwide sites at their pace and frequency.

But, if you see a post here and you happen to be on the same site as the OP, then your chances are inevitably, immediate.

I use the Asus global site and look under one of the OSes Driver and Tools:

Side question. What the heck "Signature Version"? I assumed it was some security hash for ensuring your firmware not hacked, but then I see someone smarter than me saying that Asus can update your firmware via Signature Check, as in it's really a way for Asus to send out mandatory hot fixes?

Yes, it seems like that. I remember something that said the US FCC was going to mandate manufacturers enable some devices, like routers, to get security updates automatically. If you stop to think about that it is a good thing as the majority of owners of consumer grade routers do not have a clue about upgrades or security.

Thanks for creating this thread, i will wait til the oilers game is over then try it as i have my cable bridged to ethernet so i dont want to mess up watching the game, lol

@bbunge - just curious ... does this version include an updated wifi driver set?
Current version from Merlinware under 388.1 is version 17.10.157.2809 (r801046).

Likely does as the version number is higher than the test version that had good reports. Will have to dig a bit deeper after some household chores.

I was able to see that Stubby is now at version 0.4.2 which is current with Merlin.

One day up with no issues here...

Is everyone doing a dirty upgrade? Or clean wipe and install
I just did a clean wipe and reverted to 386 on 86u and 86s and it seems to be stable finally.
So I'm apprehensive to upgrade right now.

Hi

Once you decide to upgrade, be sure to install the current firmware and then Hard Reset it to its default settings before you configure the network from scratch.

Reset FAQ
Reset button/webUI Restore/node removal - clears settings in NVRAM; reboot restores fw defaults from CFE (fw defaults)
Hard Reset via WPS button/webUI Restore+Initialize - also clears data logged in /jffs partition (fw defaults+clear data)
