asus rt-n56u slow download speeds!

hey guys

I have the asus rt-n56u connect to powerline adapters to my PC in the other room, when I download something on utorrent I get extremely slow speeds! I use to have a d-link dgl-4500 and it use to max out my download speeds at 1.5mb/s and ever since I got the n56u I am lucky to get 100 kb/s

I have cable internet and have updated the firmware nothing seems to fix the speeds

any suggestions or should I go out get another router?
