Asus RT-N65R Configuration page not loading properly.

Hi,

I have an Asus router and I am having issues with the configuration page. You can log in to it and get to the main page but when you try to click on any links off to the left side the page will usually endlessly try to load your selection. Sometimes the pages will load but most of the time they won't. Once it stops loading I have to close the window and log in again to try to make any changes. It usually locks up within the first few clicks.

I have rebooted it multiple times as well as have updated to the latest firmware and did a full reset on the router with no changes.

The router and the wifi work fine otherwise. I see no performance issues or wireless issues.

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Anyone have any ideas? I may end up RMA'ing it if this doesn't get any better. I just got a new laptop and it keeps giving me packet loss issues. I haven't had a device on wireless lately. I am starting to wonder if there is something else going wrong with it other than just the config page issue.

What A/V software are you running? Uninstall it as a test (disabling is not enough) and see if everything works as expected.

MSE is my recommendation for A/V (free).

Interesting. I will give that a shot. My Antivirus currently is Avast. MCSE does not pass the latest detection tests from AV comparatives, so I definitely will not be using it any time soon. I did use it in the past though.

configuration page / admin page thru browser
if you using internet-security type, then yes, try disabling it and see if it fix issue,
usually all in one security software have plugin for browser scanning and this the one causing it
if disable it on AV control panel not fix it, try disable it from browser plugin list

you can also try checking it by using another browser
ie. if u use chrome, then try with IE or firefox
add-on in chrome/firefox can cause this kind issue, like especially something like no-script/ad-blocker

Here are some more details but the issue gets even weirder.

So I tried uninstalling my AV software and it didn't change anything but I logged on with my laptop over a wireless connection and it was acting completely normal. I then unplugged the etnernet cable from my desktop and connected it to the wireless and the config page loaded perfectly over wifi. I then hardwired my laptop to ethernet and disabled the wifi and tested and got the no load issue. So that tells me that the issue only exists when using the config page over wired ethernet. It seems to work just fine when the client is connected via wifi.
