Asus RT-N66U and W8

When trying to access the WebUI of my router from my wired W8 machine the pages barely load after multiple refreshes. I thought the router was in a funky state so I upgraded the firmware last night. That was a nightmare, I thought I bricked it. I did regain access to the router from my wireless netbook running XP and reset all of the settings. Still even after the upgrade pages barely load on the W8 machine using either IE, Chrome or FireFox, but load just fine on the XP machine. This is the first time trying to access the router from my W8 machine after upgrading from W7. Pages loaded just fine when I was still on W7. Other than this the router is performing as expected. I've searched but couldn't find any info. Is this a known issue?
