Asus RT-N66U Bandwidth limiter

Dexter Lake

New Around Here
I would like to get this router. I did read however that this router cannot do ip bandwidth control like the tp link routers. Can the merlin firmware do this feature?

No, it doesn't have the processor power to do so.

Not sure about the TP Link routers, but the RT-N66U does have Bandwidth Limiter functionality and can be configured on a per IP address basis for the connected clients. I've got this feature enabled at a client's premises due to office clients uploading data to the cloud while connected to the network which would hog all of the upload bandwidth and cause major network headaches. Enabled the limiter and no more hogging of the upload bandwidth, currently have 18 client devices connected.
