New Around Here
I am using a Verizon Pantech UML295 4G/LTE USB modem as the primary WAN device in my RT-N66U. The USB modem updated it's firmware on Sept. 13th to D821F and since then hasn't connected to the Internet when plugged into the router. It does function when plugged into a laptop.

I've updated the RT-N66U firmware to the latest, 3.0.0.4.374.720. If I look at the system log for the router it appears as though the USB modem is being detected as a CDROM:

Jan 1 00:00:26 kernel: scsi 1:0:0:0: CD-ROM PANTECH CD-ROM 0000 PQ: 0 ANSI: 2
Jan 1 00:00:26 kernel: scsi 1:0:0:0: Attached scsi generic sg1 type 5
Jan 1 00:00:26 kernel: sr0: scsi3-mmc drive: 24x/24x xa/form2 caddy
Jan 1 00:00:37 kernel: drivers/usb/class/cdc-acm.c: This device cannot do calls on its own. It is no modem.
Jan 1 00:00:37 kernel: drivers/usb/class/cdc-acm.c: This device cannot do calls on its own. It is no modem.

Does anyone have a suggestion on what I can try? Do you think grabbing RMerlin's latest build would help?

Thanks, I tried your suggestion and went through the QIS but it still does not recognize the USB modem as anything but a CDROM and will not connect.

I have the same issue. Anyone ever find a solution?
