Asus Tuf Ax3000 V2 connection drop hourly

Hi,

I have two ASUS TUF ax3000 V2 routers forming an AI mesh via 5GHz WiFi.

Both routers have latest firmware

The topology is as follows:

Internet ENT <(ethernet cable)> Router A <(wifi)> Router B <(ethernet cable)> Client PCs

It's not currently feasible to connect A and B via ethernet cable.

From both the client PC, I can max out my internet usage speeds, and the connection speed is perfectly fine 99% of the time. I get 15ms latency in games and 950mbps on speedtest.net

However, very occasionally i get a massive lag spike and internet drops out for all clients connected to Router B for a few seconds, then everything goes back to perfect.

I've noticed this happens at the same time every hour within the second. Are there any hourly jobs known to run on this router that can cause this?

Are you using AiCloud ?
Did you checked your traffic?
It could be that your problems is related to this:

RT-AX88U maxing out a core and regularly showing 60+ MB/s upload

I had the same symptoms and I uploaded the stock firmware after I switched off AiCloud and pulled the hdd from router. Now it is looks stable

I used AiCloud before, but ssd drive failed too often there. After that i set up my ubuntu server and but everything behind that. So AiCloud was off - that was also 2 months ago. But problem started some week ago. Now i made factory to router (some hours ago) and seems to be stable. Before I looked traffic and logs, nothing ... Only traffic was server uploading via HA RTSP stream and it was about 3-5 mbits . Only thing what is lower is RAM use - before it was 320... now it is 290 smt....Oh and yes 60+ MB/s is expensive in our country, max is 10 what to use in home if you have money then 25 is also option.

Im getting the same thing on my brand new Asus et9 3 node mesh where the 2 mesh nodes periodically lose connection as they try to do this same roaming every hour against my wishes (backhaul connection settings defined and not set to auto) as well as disabling the 6Ghz roaming assistant. Totally terrible having network disconnection notices pop up on my TV all the time.
