Asus USB-AC56 Question

I have been trying to use this USB adapter but it seems to not be able to detect my 5GHz channel. I am currently using channel 149 for my router. Could it be that this adapter is not able to detect up that high?

That`s really unfortunate that I can`t. Ah well. Guess I will just stick with my Linksys WUSB6300 which has been great for me.

Im using an asus usb AC wifi adapter too but mine is only 2 stream AC with detachable antenna and it has no trouble detecing the higher channels. If you are using the same adapter than it could be your country setting prevents it. It seems that a lot of it uses software drivers.

It's a bone-headed driver - if running common SSID's across both bands, it'll always select the 2.4GHz side...

Have to go into the driver properties, and force the Wireless Mode to 802.11ac in the advanced section... and the bypass the Asus connection manager SW and let Windows manage it directly....
