Asus Zen WiFi BT10 & encrypted DNS

Okay another confusing Asus question. On my Clients i have set up encrypted DNS using Cloudflare's servers. Looking around in the Asus Routers setting on my Windows machine I notice a setting that says "Prevent Auto DoH" It is set to Auto. There are 3 choices Auto, Yes, or No. I changed the setting to No. Everything is working after the change. My question is why would overriding client settings to use encrypted DNS be something I would want? So the setting was set to Auto which I don't even know what way that would lean. Why is the gatekeeper even here? thanks....

You can have better control over DNS by using the router as a DNS server for all clients. Set up DoT on the router to your favorite DoT provider, I use Cloudflare Security 1.1.1.2 and 1.0.0.2, enable Prevent Auto DoH and disable DoH in your clients web browsers.
