They have been on a roll this month on a number of their devices. Hopefully they are fixing some of the issues people are complaining about.

My BQ16 setup has been near flawless for a while now.

Have Asus fix the MLO issue which come along during the first few months of launch? Currently I disable MLO on my BQ16.

I purchased my BQ16's in March 2025 and have not experienced any MLO issues

Hello all....

Well just an update ...been recently plagued with "kernel: Can't add zero mac!" and been trying to understand / problem solve but as yet still flapping in there with no obvious cause.

I bit the bullet and reset my system for this firmware by removing AIMesh nodes two XT12 nodes and a BQ16, and resetting the main BQ16 (as per the asus recommendation when installing this and the previous firmware).

Welllll..ii've still got the error in the logs...but!!!!! when I first started with these BQ16 and initial firmwares i had real problem from the start on the wifi, apple drop outs and IOT connection wissues and had to disable MLO and Wifi 7. As off this firmware and reset ...I've not touched wifi7 or MLO and everything connecting without drama...thought that was worth posting/mentioning in case any one else out there is in fear or wifi7 and mlo on old devices. currently running on stock settings with a tweak here and thre but all fine apart from some annoying erros which persist.

a. kernel: Can't add zero mac!
b. kernel: 192.168.0.251 is used by someone else, can't use it
c. kernel: sched: RT throttling activated

any thoughts appreciated.

There have been a number of posts/reports about seeing the "kernel: Can't add zero mac!" with the later/latest firmware, both stock Asus and Asus-Merlin:
Edit to add: RMerlin's response on the "kernel: Can't add zero mac!" message:
This message comes from the Trend Micro bwdpi engine, which often has that kind of annoying debug logging. Try turning down their EULA under System, then re-enable the specific TrendMicro feature that you want to use (like AiProtection).
