Asustor is targeting its latest pair of NAS devices, the 8-bay AS6208T and 10-bay AS6210T, at environments looking for high capacity units that handle the latest and largest 8 TB hard disks on the market.
The latest extension to the AS62XXT line, the AS6208T and AS6210T, both use an Intel Celeron 1.6 GHz Quad-Core processor that’s automatically overclocked to 2.24 GHz, 4 GB of Dual-Channel DDR3L RAM that’s expandable to 8 GB, and according to Asustor, both models provide read/write speeds of over 398/355 MB/s.
For external connectivity, the new NASes include four gigabit Ethernet ports, three USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports, and 2 eSATA ports.
Asustor also emphasizes the AS6208T’s and AS6210T’s 2K and 4K UHD video qualities, pointing out the units’ HDMI 1.4b port and S/PDIF fibre optic audio output, as well as their included hardware acceleration engines.
Lastly, both NAS use Asustor’s ADM 2.5.4 firmware that adds several soft-features, including RAID data protection, AES-NI hardware encryption, and a firewall. Users will also be able to update to ADM 2.6 later this April.
Launched today, pricing for the AS6208T’s SRP is $899 US and the AS6210T’s SRP is $999.
