What's new

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.7 is now available

Ran some tests with them, the most major stability issues seem specific to the GPL version that I am using. I also tried to gather user feedback on the forums, apparently all those people who claimed their RT-BE92U was totally unusable have disappeared, the feedback received from current users was just a few wifi connectivity issues reports, same as with every other models.

Asked the engineer for an updated GPL for that model, they can't provide me an ETA for when they will be able to do so, only that it will be provided once it's ready.
Not sure where you posted, as I hadn't seen anything about requesting feedback. I implemented a script to detect the clock going back to the year 1918 and forcing a reboot, so the downtime is minimal. Still happens haphazardly, there will be days, sometimes weeks where it's stable and then some days it'll end up rebooting 3 times in a single day. Did you want the logs?

Quality of life improvement request: I would love to see the uptime include on the index page, maybe at the top of the System Status, but put take it anywhere on the index page.

13 days up and running on my BE92U. No reboots but I noticed changing the DNS causes a total disconnect from the WAN. Connection is back after 20 secs.

I was getting the RTC corruption/crash problem, but like the others who mentioned that problem, it appears random.
I was only able to reproduce the RTC reset with Asuswrt-Merlin, I couldn't reproduce it when running the stock firmware after trying for about 3-4 days, which indicates the issue was only with the GPL version that Asuswrt-Merlin was using.

Performed update via manual upload of firmware on AXE16000. No issues so far. AImesh all came up. Thank you MasterMerlin - remain awesome.

Still having disconnects with AXE16000. Certainly seems to be associated with dhcp timeouts and possibly some subtle ipv6 change. Don't think you changed the GPL for this model. I keep tinkering, trying to find the root cause. Wife is not happy.

New BE86U, first flash with Merlin and factory reset. Seems to be working great, still building trust.

Same here with AXE16000. I rolled back to 3006.102.6 on 2nd March and it's been fine since (no ISP disconnects, IPv6 functioning correctly).

Thanks, I rarely venture outside of the Asuswrt-Merlin section!

@RMerlin, AsusWRT-Merlin site is blocked to non-US location, I think.
Try using a VPN to see if you can circumvent what ever is blocking access in your country/location. Other possible steps, temporarily try different DNS servers and disable any DNS filtering programs/apps you may be using.

AXE160000 with native IPV6, AIMesh, and pihole/unbound (two raspberry pi's): So I've been running this mismash system according to this Asus FAQ for quite some time:

https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1046062/

However, things seem to have reverted to the "If your router firmware version < 3.0.0.4.386.45898" with newest firmware. As soon as I entered my pihole IPV4 addresses in the LAN/DHCP server section things calmed down (it takes a while). I use ::1 for the ipv6 box. Make sure that router advertisement is disabled in LAN/DHCP server. I'm wondering whether " Enable Router Advertisement" should also be turned off under the IPV6 section. I have the pihole actual fe80 addresses listed in the IPV6 DNS section. I still occasionally (less than once a day) get the ">1000 dns attempts" error on the piholes, but I think it mainly happens during a reboot (been doing a lot of reboots lately as I experiment), although it does imply a feedback loop (maybe the ipv6?). Anyway, things are much improved. Passes the " https://test-ipv6.com" test. Wife is happier.

92U on beta 2. After 14 days, half of the smart home devices on 2.4 lost connection. The wireless log showed connection speeds (Rx/Tx) of 1/6 or 6/6. After rebooting the router, everything worked again. Rebooting the clients didn't help.
Why beta 2
92U don't have release.

92u is on beta 2, no release until the bugs get worked out per Merlin....
Unfortunately the reality is that Merlin gets the GPLs from ASUS, so any issues arising from the closed source elements of the Merlin FW can not ever be sorted out by Merlin. All he can do is send the ASUS issues upline and hope they fix it in the next GPL he gets from them 🤷‍♂️.

3006.102.7 beta1 is more stable than 3006.102.7 beta2 for me (be92u), just posted on that other thread with more details.
Placebo. The only changes between beta1 and beta2 are at the webui level, and a bugfix related to Wireguard (which does not impact the RT-BE92U).
