Asuswrt-Merlin dev
Howdy folks,

Initially I wanted to wait for newer Asus source code before pushing out a new release, however in light of the recent OpenSSL security fixes I decided to publish a 376.45 release with the current Github content for all supported models.

This is essentially a security + bugfix release with little frills, so I'll just dump the changelog here:

376.45 (17-Aug-2014)
  • NEW: Compiled vsftpd with SSL support (must be manually configured if you intend to use it)
  • NEW: Report FA state (Level 2 CTF) on Sysinfo page.
  • CHANGED: Updated dropbear to 2014.65.
  • CHANGED: Updated openssl to 1.0.0n (numerous security fixes)
  • CHANGED: Updated lzo to 2.08
  • CHANGED: Reworked VPN Server pages to be more intuitive
  • FIXED: Garbled client dropdown selector on DNSFilter page
  • FIXED: The Comcast neighbour solicitation block wasn't enabled anymore (regression in 376.44) (Patch by Sinshiva)
  • FIXED: 5 GHz N+AC mode was incorrectly setting router to N-only mode (Asus bug, fix backported from 2381, additional fix by me for AC66)
  • FIXED: PControl page failing to display on French and Italian locales (Asus bug)
  • FIXED: IPv6 can occasionally fail to work properly when using a PPPoE WAN interface (patch by pinwing)

Downloads are here.

Thanks! I'm guessing this should fix most problem from .44 firmware... Gonna try it now

ASUS RT-AC66U F/W: 374.44

FYI, I think you have the .44 MD5s listed in the post. When I do it, I get ba283d12e804faed1e482a715302519b for the AC68U, which matches what's in the md5sums.txt file.

I probably copy/pasted the old file, thanks.

Just one question

I have just N devices using the 5Ghz channel, nnow i saw that we have an option at Wifi option N/AC Mixed, if i buy some AC device and still will use some N devices should i set N/AC Mixed?

Personally I just leave this to Auto. I haven't figured any real use for this setting.

Dunno if I should take a plunge into the deep and update now that I have 376.44 working better than ever. Seriously, no problems on my end or the routers end. It's working flawlessly.

376.45 version doesn't display after git pull

Using your source code and using the command: git tag -l after the command: git pull git://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin -f

I can't see the 376.45 version to checkout. I'm I doing something wrong?

Regards

It's not tagged as a release yet so you have to checkout the master branch

I have the same thoughts as you. I have 376.44 working well, if it ain't broke don't fix it.

See the changelog. The security fixes brought by the OpenSSL update were the main reason why I pushed this new release so soon. I strongly advise updating. All your settings will remain intact.

For some reason this firmware has better Wifi range than .44.... Hey I'm not complaining also my 5Ghz band has been fixed thanks! No issue so far

IPSec Support?

Thank you Merlin,

Have you restored IPSec support in this release for RT-AC66U? I guess you had to remove it by .44? I use IPSec and i'm wondering if i upgrade to .45 then i lose it? Currently i'm very happy with .43

Just want to report that I have updated to 376.45 firmware for my RT-N66U about an hour after it was available and no problems so far (I didn't expect any though).

One thing that I do want to point out, after I flash the new firmware and do the manual reboot it asks, I leave the router on for about 10 - 15 minutes and then I simply reboot (via the gui) and this has given me the most stable experience so far.

This has worked on multiple RT-N66U, RT-AC66U an RT-AC68U's.

Thanks again RMerlin for such a great firmware!
