New Around Here
Hello People!

Here Kevin from The Netherlands.
I'm used about 1,5 year Asus merlin on my Asus RT-AC86u.

Now I upgraded my AP to the RT-AX86s.
Copied all the settings to have them right :)

From the first minute when I flashed the 386.7 Firmware and Installed default apps (Diversion and Skynet) I have problems with DNS and some devices cannot connect to the Wifi because they don't get an IP adress.

I Already try an other USB (formatted 2 times on Windows) and Installed the apps from before but no succes..
I also try to reflash the latest firmware 386.7.2 but also no succes..

Every Time I update the blocking list, I got DNS errors and Some devices cannot connect.

The temp solution for me now is to disable Skynet or Diversion. (but I dont want to do that...)

Anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks!

*attached the logging from my router

I have some bad news, Kevin:
you need to reset your router to the default (you won't have to re-flash Merlin) and then re-install (preferably on a new, never used USB drive) Diversion and skynet and whatever other scripts you may use through amtm.
for any special settings you want to replicate, write them down rather than saving in a config file that you bring over to your new network.
It seems you have a bit of a concern about privacy/security - have you considered running unbound as your network's DNS server? check them out here

Thanks for the answer!

l go again reset the Router to default and try it again.

Before I used unbound, but for now I disabled to test if the problem was inside Unbound (but that was not the problem :) )
The settings I do manual (not with a config file, because that gave some problems I read)

When the problem solve I write it down here!

Try using https://pastebin.com/ instead next time.
Done that but logfile was to big I think

Update:
Okey again done a Back to stock > Factory Reset > Setup > Flash Merlin > Factory Reset, setup only the urgent things and then I installed first Diversion, second Skynet.
What do you think? I did a adblock update and then again...

So 2 Days ago I ordered a AC2900 (for a mesh). Now I flashed it with merlin and do the same settings and he is running good.
Then I manual copied the settings to the AX86s (hoping maybe a settings or something are not good on the AX86s).
30 minutes> No problem. Then Again the same problems..

Now I disconnected all my cabled devices (maybe they are DDOSing my Router) and reinstalled Diversion and Skynet again.
9 hours without problems ATM only see this continues in the logs:

Code:
Jul 29 10:13:26 kernel: wl0: fatal error, reinitializing, total count of reinit's[115]
Jul 29 10:13:27 kernel: CSIMON: CSIMON[1.1.0] Initialization
Jul 29 10:13:27 kernel: CSIMON: M2M usr already registered ...

So I don't know if the problem is maybe a devices or something else.
I ordered new USB drives to check maybe there is a problem.

The first line of the log you pasted above seems to indicate to me that your brand new AX86 may have some hardware defects.
Just to clarify, Did you flash it with the AX86 version of Merlin? it's the "same" firmware between AX and AC 86's, but it's tailored to run on each model.
another thing - for your intended mesh, are your routers hardwired together?

Thanks for the answer again.

You mean the Fatal error?
That doesn't sound good.. Is it maybe the USB drive? (I ordered new one, and they come this evening) so then I can test with another USB.

I read about the same kernel error "https://www.snbforums.com/threads/rt-ax88u-merlin-support.49236/post-446617" and nobody know the problem..

*Update:
I did a factory reset again and configured default settings like IP adres. (not configured Scripts or Tools) to check if the Router is more stable now.
Then I remove the USB from the 3.0 port to the 2.0 port and the message is gone. (for now 20 minutes and a few reboots) :)

I run the AX86U firmware on the AX86S (not the AC86).
My mesh was before wireless, but I don't setup the mesh now before the router is stable.

Okey I had not a lot time this weeks but I got a new usb (Sanddisk Ultra 32GB).
Formatted again the whole router and build it up again.

Now the Router is more stable, but stil dropping sometimes the connection to devices..
Got the following in the logging about 10 times on a day.

I tried to turn of the ai protection things, but no succes still get the "Fatal signal 11" error...
Does this mean the Router is faulty?

After the Facotry reset, I dont get this message again :D

I tried to turn of the ai protection things, but no succes still get the "Fatal signal 11" error...
Does this mean the Router is faulty?
No, this is a known problem usually caused by installing Diversion. Go to Administration > Privacy and "Withdraw" from any licence agreements that are active (then reboot if it doesn't do it automatically).

After the suggestion to Withdraw the licenses agreements, the Router is now stable (only the AiProtection now doesnt work) :(
I go try if the QOS (or FlexQos) makes the router unstable for me.

The logging is clean now, only the following thing inside:
Code:

Okey Tested a few days without enabling Qos and AiProtection.
The router is now stable and runs without errors.

Hope there will be an update that I can enable the 2 features above on my AX86S :D

For now Case closed. Thanks @ColinTaylor and @heysoundude
