Around ~32 wireless devices per band before performing worse.

Yes, 'active'. You can have many more devices connected when not doing speed or latency intensive networking and still be 'okay'. But somewhere past ~32 client devices, a performance drop can be noticed (by some users).

Think I'm around 40 devices total, but most of those are not active all the time.

Are all those 40 devices on a single band? Or over both the 2.5GHz and the 5GHz bands?

That's what I couldn't remember, if it was around 32 total or per 2.4 & 5...I'm probably around 32 or so, but simple stuff is on 2.4, and all else on 5ghz. Pretty split.
