Ok, so I had a defective ax86u which would drop link every few hours. Changed cables, got a cable tester, winmrt would have 1% loss from wired pc to router.
they gave me a brand new one.
I got it Thursday, everything was working fine. 0% loss in 5 days, worst ping something like 8ms on first hop.
Today I got a red wan light. Asus app says disconnected from internet, but my internet is working fine (almost). My PC is connected on PIA, has torrents at 10mBps, and I can browse.
My playstation 5 is working, stable.
My phone (and I would assume PC) tho is iffy, if I connect VPN I can browse and do everything else. Without VPN (no killswitch), facebook app works, games work. But I can’t browse! It’s like TCP is not working but udp is or something. I am not getting a dns error either, just a « can’t connect ».
All that while router wan light is red and web interface reports « disconnected ».
