Hello,
I have a strange issue, I have two 1G ISP provided SFP modules, both work in the DLINK fiber optic converter.
Months ago, i connected them to my router SFP port, set the port as main wan and had internet, my ISP uses Automatic IP so its extremely simple.
Between then I went back to using converter and had 1-2 router firmware updates, so i have a feeling that its this.

The SFP port works, because I pluged 10G rj45 converter and it works, it even works as WAN, fiber optic goes to converter box and the Ethernet cable to RJ45 SFP dongle.
So everything is functional: the 1G SFP modules and the SFP port, but not when i use them together.

Any suggestions? Maybe full reset?

Thanks

Oh this is a well known problem...
On firmware 3.0.0.4.386.23012 and beta RT-AX89U_9.0.0.4_386_44150-g49dbf3e_sfp+_ui_wo_fnf_patches, everything worked (gpon sfp at 1Gbps).
At 3.0.0.4.386.45120 - they broke.
here it is described in the first post: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/rt-ax89x-firmware-3-0-0-4-386-45120.74459/
08:08:32 kernel: [ 224.065487] eth4: PHY Link up speed: 65535
08:08:34 kernel: [ 226.065477] eth4: PHY Link is down
08:08:35 kernel: [ 227.065493] eth4: PHY Link up speed: 10000
08:08:37 kernel: [ 229.065476] eth4: PHY Link is down
08:08:38 kernel: [ 230.065481] eth4: PHY Link up speed: 65535
08:08:40 kernel: [ 232.065478] eth4: PHY Link is down
08:08:59 kernel: [ 251.065489] eth4: PHY Link up speed: 10000
08:09:01 kernel: [ 253.065473] eth4: PHY Link is down
the router itself does not know at what speed it will start :) numbers are nonsense
And asus does not want to fix it in any way!
and the router does not react in any way to the fact that I forcibly set the speed to 1 gigabit in the LAN settings!

They fixed it for me, i talked to ASUS guy named Mark Lee and he fixed it under 24 hours and made a new firmware, SUPERB service, 100% never seen such awesome tech support.

P.S. If you want to get support, use the build-in router send feedback function, attach all the logs and describe your issue in detail. but as short as posible, they in Taiwan, speak english but you know it is, the shorter it is the easier to understand.

thank you for sharing your firmware!
I contacted them in support twice through this built-in service, described the problem, attached logs ...
They never answered me ...

THANKS!!! I can confirm that this build has fixed a number of issues for me as well. As noted, 45120 broke SFP+ upon restarts (was previously on the 44150 beta to resolve this issue) and screwed with Homekit devices on my network. And 45130 broke IPTV! But not only does this build seem to have fixed the SFP+/Homekit/IPTV issues I've been experiencing, it also includes support for 128 device manual DHCP assignment (a feature I've been begging for)!! Really not sure when I will feel confident in trusting Asus to put out another solid general release of fw for this router, but at least I'm running well atm.
