AXE1600 Can't ping lan without connected to internet

Is that something that is on purpose ? because I don't remember I need to be connected to internet just to have ping to check other computers on the same network lan.
is that a setting I can change?

Are you pinging by host name or IP address?

Where are you pinging from, the router? If so, through the webUI or an SSH command line?

pinging 192.168.50.8 a WIFI device that recieve pings. it works fine if I have WAN connected to the internet, not enough that WAN cable is connected.
pinging from one of the computers that connected to the same network 192.168.50.200 or 82

Can you post the complete output from the failed ping command so that we can see the problem.

Does this only effect Wi-Fi devices? I'm assuming that if you ping an Ethernet device from another Ethernet device it works?

As a test try pinging other Wi-Fi devices. When Wi-Fi devices loose internet connectivity quite often they will continuously disconnect and reconnect until the internet returns. So it's possible that this behaviour is causing your ping to fail.

I noticed that the app had Checking for Internet Connection they say to select it for some reason which is stupid because when the device doesn't need connection to the internet so there is no reason for it to work with internet execpt for updates, but it doesn't need to keep checking. it works with this disabled
