bash aliases

Good morning. I want to add some aliases to my ssh sessions, but I can't find where to put them. There must be a bashrc file, or equivalent, but I can't find it. Any helpwould be greatly appreciated.

The router doesn't have bash it has ash.

You'll need a custom firmware to add aliases. In Merlin you would add them to /jffs/configs/profile.add

I'm using Merlin, but don't see the /jffs/configs/profile.add file.
I'm pretty sure I saw it when I had x3mRouting loaded. Do I need x3mRouting to add alaises?
I CAN see
/rom/etc/profile
/tmp/mnt/entware/entware/etc/profile
/tmp/etc/profile

But some of them are read only. I could chmod them, but which one to use?
