Through the help of this forum, I have a 2TB USB 2.0 drive connected to the AC68 router and acting as a "fake NAS." I connect to it by clicking Finder>Go>Connect To Server>smb://IPaddress
I can read all the files on the drive and drag them over the wireless network to my Mac running Mavericks. I just can't write to folders or delete the existing files on the drive. However, I can create new folders and write to only those new folders.
I've tried for week trying to get the permissions to work on the existing folders, to no avail. It just says "You have custom access" under Get Info. I can't find anyway to get it so I can write/delete to the existing folders when connected via samba. With the drive plugged into the Mac, I have full permissions to all folders...
Using Merlin's latest firmware, the drive is showing up as having full permissions. So I don't know where the hang up is. This is probably a basic thing, but I don't know what to do next.
