Well...I'm not a beginner just expanding my knowledge and in over my head at the moment. My current setup is road runner cabled in to my wndr3700 that provides all my wireless needs like laptops, printers, iPad etc.
What I am trying to do is hook up my dvr receiver to the Internet without running a cable across multiple rooms. Every room has a cat5 jack including where my modem and router is in the office. Is there a way I can simply hook up my modem to the wall and in the room with the dvr, use another cat 5 to connect the dvr to the wall and provide it Internet? Every topic I have found through google is more geared towards installing the actual outlets as opposed to just learning how to set up a network on the pre existing infrastructure. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
