I have noticed this in the security log on the N1 vision, seems to be constantly trying to connect;

Not sure what thay is all about ?

That's a multicast IP--either you've managed to blacklist the associated MAC, or your router is being dumb.

Thanks for the prompt reply;

I turned off the Mac address filtering and turned on the Mac access control it would seem that the mac address filter was blocking that address i posted for some reason.

I only need wifi mac address filtering anyway, the security log is now clear.

Thanks again

Oh dear oh dear oh dear,

Have already got the 2nd and third chinks in the Belkin's armour this morning;

It crashed again today for no reason, the LCD screen becomes unresponsive and so does the user GUI. This was the second chink.

Third Chink,

Every two hours the router does a time sync that automatically kicks me out of any game that i am playing, any video that i am streaming, you name the time update breaks it.

It looks a little like this; Router get real time with time-zone

You get disconncted for a second and have to log back in, so i was playing Halo 3 on the 360, then blam, XBOX Live disconnected, so i switch to my HTPC and try the internet, works fine, switch back to the 360 log back in and all is fine.

So i call Belkin UK technical support and get put through to one of those quality Indian Call Centres, Yay of Yays.

I explained the problems to the good sir on the other line, told him it was because of the time sync, he told me to turn my Firewall off for two hours see if it disconnects and then if it does ring back.

So according to Belkin tech support i should use my computer on the internet for two hours unprotected ,and then get disconnected when it does a time sync anyway, and have someone hack my machine all at the same time.

It would have normally been on its way back by now but the display is so nice, i like to watch the dials go up and down :(

Take it back and get your pounds back.. Early signs of issues already.. Buddy has Linksys Ultra N whatever the top end model you might want to give that a try with dual band.

Simultaneous Dual-N Band Wireless Router
WRT610N

I am not a fan of there products but you need help finding something...

Apparantly there are some issues with the Latest Linksys router, the 5GHz radio continually reboots, also to be honest at the moment i am looking the leave the Dual Band because from what i have seen the 2.4Gz radio on them doesnt offer good performance, as i know first hand from the DIR-855.

I am just on live chat with belkin support it is not going well at all.

I would like to know what the best Draft N router is available at the moment, i dont want the DIR-655 as i had some problems with that but i am open to anything else.

Looking on the Smallnet builderwireless charts the WRT350N seems to offer good performance, the WRT600N never came out here in the UK.

In saying that the WRT610N is only £28 quid (uk slang for pounds) more expensive though but i really dont want another router with problems.

Back to the drawing board, Belkin live chat was horrendous, there are totally shocking, they try and help but unfortunately they just have no knowledge at all.

Or the apple extreme is also available;

I would also really love to here thiggins opinion on which the best Draft N wireless router in terms of stability and wireless performance if possible.

Ones that i have had already or recently sent back or sold;

Dlink DIR-655 and DIR-855
Belkin N1 Vision

Gonna have to rule out the Apple as it doesn't seem to play well on the gaming front, not having UPNP or port triggering, would be stuck with bad NAT settings on my 360 and PS3 which would be totally unideal to say the least.

During further research into the WRT350N and i have read that it has poor UDP performance making it not very good for streaming, dont know much about this though tbh.

Starting to re-consider the WRT610N, but i keep thinking that there has been problems with these apparently, and some user in this forum that have it say there are some problems to be had with it.
