Best NAS Server for Home Use

What is the best NAS server for home use? I'm looking to backup music, picture, documents, etc.. I have both Mac and a PC, so it should be compatible with both. I've tried Mac's Time Capsule and thought it was too slow.

Any suggestions?

If you want to serve-out as well as backup, music, pictures, videos, docuements, then take a look at QNAP and Synology.

2 Nas's

I'd budget for 2 NAS's that support Rsync, one for your main storage and one for backup. Currently, I have a Synology DS209 as my primary storage system and a ReadyNAS-Duo as the backup. I like the Synology better.
