Best router for SIP / VoIP

Hi guys, I'm managing the Call Center of the Templars, It's all-wired and the peak connection is 500 VoIP calls simultaneously (we got a ARU), on the peak the calls are with lower quality, the main reason is that our actual routers was not dimensioned for this scenario. I'm between 2 options (both with cost around $100)

1. Engenius ESR750H
WAN to LAN thoughtput: 890mb/s
DD-WRT Supported: Unknown

2. NETGEAR N750 (WNDR4000)
WAN to LAN thoughtput: 680mb/s
DD-WRT Supported: Yes


Obs.: you guys have another option for high-speed router?

You are in a big center with hundreds of VoIP sessions. And you are asking a consumer-oriented web site what router to use? Rather than big iron from Juniper, Cisco, etc?

I've been introcing on the networking / voip... and now on routers market

I've been reading about routers with QoS that prioritize VoIP

Any help about the router is welcome since we need to buy 2 routers, one for a 10mb MPLS (VoIP DIP) and other for the PA's ADSL Link

The switch used on this circuit is an Extreme Networks Summit X150 48-p 2gigabit-p

Those routers would be fine for downloading a file with that speed, but handling 500 simultaneous VoIP connections? I don't even think they handle 50. Sorry, as already said, you need some serious iron. You also need either a network manager or a capable consultant, especially given you have VoIP, I realize you do not wish to spend money but when someone cracks your network, the resulting phone bill can easily and quickly skyrocket beyond what you imagine.

We bought one good Switch (managed) with good QoS plus gigabit ports and installed a Linux server to help on Ip routing for VLans

Now It's time to replace the router, do you know if the Daytrek Vigor 2130 is fine for us or you have another indication ?
