if the phones support VOIP and you can use ethernet with a standard server it may be a cost effective solution as you can have a hard drive for lots of recordings and also use it for other things.
 
I use AT&T's Office at Hand, where I can get a toll free number, 10 other phone numbers with any area code, an automated voice system for callers that's extremely customizable, and I can have any phone number/s forwarded to any phone. If I forward them to my cell phone, I can use VOIP. It's all software based, vs our old NEC IP phones.
