BlackArmor NAS 440 on a mac network

Marshall

Occasional Visitor
I am looking for a new network storage device.
I am considering the BlackArmor NAS 44 2TB, I wanting to know how well it runs with Apple mac, my other consideration is to wait until Mac OS X snow leopard server comes out, and purchasing an old mac mini and running that has my network server.
Any thoughts?

Thanks
Marshall

What are your specific concerns / requirements? The review states that there is no Apple Time Machine support of Mac OS backup client. It also doesn't support AFP.

But it supports SMB/CIFS, which MacOS also supports. So for basic file sharing it should work fine.

Thanks Tim,
On the Seagate website it states Supports Windows® XP, Windows Vista®, and Mac OS® X 10.4.11 or later.
But if the review says it has no Apple Time Machine support of Mac OS backup client and it also doesn't support AFP, then I'll think I stay clear of Seagate BlackArmor.
The other I have looked at is the Netgear ReadyNAS, though I might go with the snow leopard server and mini mac, so I can use has a mail server.

On the Seagate website it states Supports Windows® XP, Windows Vista®, and Mac OS® X 10.4.11 or later.
Since it supports SMB/CIFS, they could have added virtually any current OS.
