Block YouTube ios app in router

Is there a way to block the YouTube IOS app within the Asuswrt-Merlin firmware? I can set up a URL filter that will block the YouTube website, but it will not block the YouTube app on IOS devices (ipad, iphone, etc.). Thanks.

Did you try blocking the mobile version of Youtube? Something like m.youtube.com

I read somewhere you could use Layer 7 filtering. Something like:

iptables -t filter -I FORWARD -s <your iPad IP>/32 -m layer7 --l7proto youtube -j DROP

Manually assign <your iPad IP> in the Router first.
